General FAQ

What is paracord?

Paracord, also known as parachute cord, was created in the 20th century for the military.  It is traditionally made out of nylon, but sometimes includes polyester. It was specifically created for, you guessed it, parachutes!

At Kira June Braids, we use Type III paracord, commonly known as Paracord 550.

This means each strand is rated to hold 550 lbs of weight and pressure. Most of our braids use 8 strands.

Other paracord qualities:

-high tensile strength

-high durability

-rot and mildew resistant

-abrasion resistant

-UV fade resistant

-machine washable in cold water! (hang dry)

How do I place an order?

Custom orders are now open!

Please visit KiraJuneBraids.Etsy.com or message me via email, Facebook, or Instagram to order.

All my premade braids are available on kirajunebraids.etsy.com to purchase and are ready to ship.

How can I choose my colors?

Our Color Choices page has the colors we now offer.  If none of those suite your fancy, please visit ParacordPlanet.com to view all the color options (I can order any in stock colors for an additional $10 to your total). Please note, not all colors are available at all times.

What is the time frame for receiving my braid?

Premade braids usually ship out between 1-3 business days after your order was placed.  Custom orders take 1-4 weeks until shipped. This is because it takes about a week for paracord to get to me, and then it takes time to braid.  It all depends on what braid you have ordered.  Please know that all time frames are estimates and it could take longer than expected.

Can I get a discount? I can't afford it.

My prices are based on supply costs and the amount of time it takes me to braid. Paracord isn't cheap and neither is time. If you cannot respect that, please shop elsewhere. I try to offer good deals throughout the year as well as discounts to returning customers.

Custom Order FAQ

What if I need my braid ASAP?

Please look through my shop to see if any of my premade braids will work for you!  I understand that colors and lengths may not always be perfect with those though.  If this is the case, please just shoot me an email or DM on Instagram.  Depending on what kind of braid you need, I may be able to squeeze you in between orders. Please be in mind that an additional fee may apply for rush orders.

Are there any braids you aren't taking orders for?

Flower halters are currently not available due to supply issues.  Thank you for understanding.

How can I order a custom braid?

Please visit my shop, KiraJuneBraids.Etsy.com to place a custom order. If the custom braid you want isn't listed there, please email me, message me on Istagram, or message me on Facebook.

If I want multiple colors that need to be ordered, do they each cost an additional $10?

No.

Whether you need me to order 1 color or 6, there will only be one $10 charge.  However, if you decide you want a different color after I have already ordered the original colors, an additional $10 will be charged.

Do custom braids cost more than premade braids?

Yes.

As of right now, custom braids are priced higher than premade braids. This is to help move the current inventory out to make room for new inventory.
